CO-Colorado Springs NO RELOCATION FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION. CANDIDATES RESIDING IN THE GENERALCOLORADO SPRINGSAREA WILL BE CONSIDERED. Position Overview:
General knowledge in the application of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering principles and broad knowledge of EMC issues, control of EMI and ESD, RF hazards and propagation, lightning protection, electrical grounding, and basics of power distribution Position Duties Include:
* Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control:
Maintain process control for the contract, generate and present (or accredit) ESD training for contract personnel, assist evaluations or investigations of ESD-related incidents. * Power Quality:
Assist in evaluation, test planning, testing, and analysis for power distribution to SCNC and SCNC-installed equipment * Power Distribution:
Assist in specifications of power requirements, assessment of loads and capacities, design of power distribution, specification of UPS and generator requirements, assessment of compliance with power distribution standards as tasked. * Grounding:
As tasked, determine requirements and provide design inputs for projects, SCNC equipment, and SCNC facilities * Electrical Safety:
Evaluate SCNC installations, repair and maintenance procedures, and designs for safety and compliance with standards and codes. * Lightning Protection:
As tasked, determine requirements and provide design inputs for projects, SCNC equipment, and SCNC facilities. * General understanding of E3 measurement equipment, software, and computational tools - required by the discipline * Technical report writing * Presentation generation and speaking * Work effectively independently and in integrated project teams * Working knowledge of AFSCN equipment and functions (desired) * Electrical Power Engineering Knowledge (desired) Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics or other related physical science 1 year related experience is required. * In lieu of degree 9 years of related experience is required. * Must be a U.S. Citizen. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
