This senior engineering position is responsible for understanding the wide ranging scope of work being performed on the SCNC, and for driving the technical vision and strategic implementation of remote system updates including security and anti-virus updates. Will provide leadership and technical oversight for security verification and validation testing of systems and will drive automation and process improvements as needed. Usually is an engineering generalist with knowledge in several different engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical and aerospace. Formulates, recommends, and directs operations and procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems regarding operations, staffing, and equipment utilization on a specific project or projects. Provides technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties. Applicants must possess strong collaboration, facilitation and communication skills and will be expected to interact with cross departmental, governmental, and subcontractor organizations. Applicants must have the ability to use sound engineering judgment and analytical skills to look at the big picture, get to the root cause of problems and guide others in the process. * Excellent understanding of system security requirements * Strong problem diagnosis skills * Employing standard methods, processes and tools to analysis and drive solutions * System Administration experience or a background in scripting and/or system configuration * Background in Security or Information Assurance * Ability to work without daily supervision * Self motivated and work well with other people * Good communications skills Basic Qualifications:
