CO-Colorado Springs NO RELOCATION FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION. CANDIDATES RESIDING IN THE GENERAL COLORADO SPRINGS AREA WILL BE CONSIDERED. Position Overview:
Modeling & Simulation Engineer. Performs component, subsystem, and system level integration and testing related to the sustainment of the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) under the Satellite Control Network Contract (SCNC). Uses applicable tools, and methods comensurate with experience to develop innovative solutions for obsolete parts (S/W firmware, hardware). Capable of modeling advanced algorithms in development of performance characteristics related to S/W, and hardware budgets. Position Duties Include:
* Provides technical direction for the assigned project. * Leads selected Modeling activities and identifies the applicable tools, and scope of testing; test participants, test equipment, security concerns, safety concerns, and reccomends AFSCN assets required. Leads the execution of a broad range of test engineering assignments involving verification of SW and hardware performance. * May conduct investigations and test of considerable complexity, with test results leading to recommendations for potential technical modifications to software applications; system design or re-engineering and analysis of system for possible improvements. * Develops test procedures to include requirements to be verified traceable to individual test cases, performance parameters to be measured, expected/actual results, pass/fail criteria and step-by-step operations required to meet overall test objectives. * Applies system and architecture design engineering methods to direct system trouble shooting and fault isolation of test failures. * Using applicable tools, and ingenuity, applies simulation methods to develop proof of concept activities which in turn may create new technology, or may lead to new project insertions. * At times reviews engineering development and sustainment actions to be performed by SCNC personnel to determine levels of testing/regression testing required. Basic Qualifications:
