May give some direction and guidance to less experienced software systems engineers. Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Develops logic, codes, tests and debugs software packages. Modifies, tests, and debugs retail utilities. Packages and engineers releases to integrate with the company's operating systems. Develops and modifies complex software, such as routines supporting multiprogramming, telecommunications and file management. * Support selected missile defense modeling and simulation for the overallBMDS, its segments and program elements. * Be a member of the Program Manager's crisis action team; thus he/she willrespond to emergent requirements, data-calls, briefings, and contingencies. * Prepare real time responses to requests for information from MDAleadership. * Work special projects as required.Understand engineering system analysis and control functions to includeWBS, Configuration Management, Program Management Baselines, Cost Accounts,EVMS, CAIV, IPTs, Technical Reviews and Audits, Trade Studies, Modeling andSimulation, Metrics, and Risk Management. * Be responsible for performing M&S system engineering planning, productimprovement strategies, aiding in organizing and integrating systems development,contractual considerations, and management considerations. * Engineering expertise on one or more programs from Concept Studies,System Definition, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design and life-cyclemanagement a plus. Candidate will understand cost estimating techniques to includeactual, analogous, and engineering. Qualifications Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related work experience.
