Cisco seeks a senior Systems Engineer (SE) to partner with our Account Executives in a pre-sales technical role in the "Evolving" Go-To-Market segment in Australia. The Evolving GTM is an exciting place to be as we lead the transformational agenda, open up new markets for Cisco and uncover breakthrough opportunities. This high visibility role will take our customer-centric strategy and game-changing service oriented architectures to Utilities and Media outlets, Outsourcers and Hosting companies and "Challenger" Service Providers. The role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to define strategy, create new business models and take significant steps in their personal and career growth. The SE's primary role is to seek out and analyse customer needs and match those to Cisco's technical capabilites. The SE will showcase Cisco by designing and configuring product solutions to meet specific needs, setting up demonstrations and explaining features and benefits to customers. In addition, the SE will:
>Manage direct customer and partner relationships for assigned accounts in the Evolving market >Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities >Provide technical and consultative sales support >Perform technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects >Work with Cisco Development teams to bring new products and technologies to market >Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services >Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Teams and provide consultative support in their area of specialization to other Systems Engineers In additional to technological aptitude and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke passion and confidence. The candidate will have:
>7+ years-related experience. >Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings, preferably in the Service Provider field >Pre-Sales experience >Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) educational qualification or equivalent >CCIE certification highly desirable The candidate will also be able to demonstrate:
>In-depth knowledge and strong operating experience in at least one of the following areas of specialization:
Routing/switching, Service Provider technologies, Security, Unified Communications, Data Centre, Multi-Service (Voice and Video), Optical Networking or Wireless (relevant to assignment). >Knowledge of relevant solution sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. >Competitive knowledge in the Service Provider space including solution, technology and product offerings. >Understanding and ability to articulate on company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. >Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills. >Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team.
