immediately Job Summary/Position Purpose:
The Senior Associate, Technology is part of the project team and takes responsibility for a specific component or element of a technical solution to include architecture, planning, estimation, implementation, documentation, issue resolution and quality assurance. This candidate will also work with subject matter experts and stakeholders within the team and client organization to ensure that appropriate design steps and technical standards are agreed upon as part of a comprehensive system development lifecycle (SDLC) process. The successful candidate will be self-directed and capable of providing strategic and technical leadership in delivering Portal Solutions using Microsoft SharePoint and related technologies. Especially helpful would be additional experience with server farms, high availability, failover, disaster recover, continuity of operations, performance tweaking, server virtualization, networking, integration and security. Primary Responsibilities:
. Provide recommendations, design, architecture, implementation support, testing, and documentation of of web-enabled portal solutions using SharePoint technologies . Provide recommendations in portal vision and direction drawing experience from similar projects or engagements. . Provide subject matter expertise to identify and recommend workable solutions. Work with business users to gather requirements, write functional and technical specifications. . Installation of High Availability Clusters (HA Clusters) and conduct performance testing . Develop and maintain standards and processes for portal development, as well as information architecture for specific implementations. . Demonstrate expertise with a broad set of development tools/technologies As a Sr. Associate you will also:
. Develop conceptual and technical design including use of SOA technologies and techniques. . Conduct testing including all phases; systems, integration and performance and ensuring traceability. . Mentor more junior team members. Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
. 3-5 years of experience in portal design, configuration, tuning, installation, development &/or implementation. . Extensive experience configuring web parts, Windows SharePoint Services. . Experience developing portal strategies for MS SharePoint platform. Direct experience with SharePoint 2007 solutions is preferred. . Minimum 3 years development experience in Java. Experience with .NET technologies including ASP.NET, VB.NET, C# and extensive experience with SQL Server 2005. . Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the proven ability to "independently" lead a team of 3-5 people during multiple phases of the lifecycle. . Experience on Government projects. . Strongly Desired:
. MS SQL Certification, SharePoint Certification. . Experience in a Consulting environment. . Experience implementing large scale custom development and/or system integration projects in one or more phases of the SDLC. . Experience with MS Project and other scheduling tools/strategies - able to create a detailed project plan with defined tasks and communicate ownership to client and team leads .
