Our client is looking for Lead Infrastructure Engineer w/RAID, SOA, SAN technologies (Other Job Titles Include:
Infrastructure Engineer, Infrastructure Architect, Infrastructure Designer, Lead Infrasturcture Engineer, Lead Infrasturcture Designer) Acts as the lead technical consultant responsible for assisting and supporting the analysis, design, development, engineering and implementation of infrastructure solutions for projects ranging from simple to complex business solutions. Troubleshoots and resolves compatibility issues based on business requirements, system architecture, project requirements, customer expectations, etc. Adapts existing Business Applications to new Technology platforms. Supports efforts due to Enterprise Technology changes such as Enterprise OS and Software version upgrades, Microsoft SP updates, Security Patches, etc. which may require configuration changes. Performs consulting support to Systems Analysts, Design Architects, Developers, etc. for projects and enhancements. Responsibilities may include risks assessments, partnering on capacity planning, budget forecasting, and the diagnosis and correction of application/network problems. May serve as the primary contact for vendors and work with them to ensure vendor solution fits into corpotate environment. Partnering with Design Architects providing input to Security Design. Ensure Security Standards are followed according to Information Protection Standards and Guidelines. Technologies span mainframe, midrange, distributed, desktop, server, network data, messaging (e.g. MQSeries), web, database, application and output/receiving. Requirements:
Building Server and Desktop infrastructure for project initiatives, enhancements, etc., which include various environments such as Development, Test, Staging, PVS and Production, etc. Installing, configuring, troubleshooting Windows XP Desktops. Installing, configuring, troubleshooting Windows 2000, 2003. Good understanding of Ethernet configurations and network topologies. Good working knowledge of TCP/IP and commands used for troubleshooting network connectivity issues. Capable of installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of servers, most importantly database, web and application servers. Experience with setup and configuration of IBM/HP servers or equivalent. Experience with configuring RAID 1 and RAID 5. Experience on Virtualization (Vmware Server and Desktop Virtualization Infrastructure). Experience with Microsoft IIS setup and troubleshooting Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture Working knowledge of Active Directory. Experience with Security standards and configuration. Experience with SAN Technologies. Good understanding of Outlook, Internet Explorer, MS Office Products. Good understanding of SQL 2000 and 2005, Backup Exec or TSM on Windows 2000, 2003 Servers. Strong customer service support skills. Strong oral and written communications skills. Education:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least two, typically four or more years experience in all phases of infrastructure network management or its equivalent in education and work experience.
