Religious Studies Description:
10-month position (August-May). 40 hours per week. In consultation with the faculty of Religious Studies and Theology, and with staff at the archdiocesan offices, the candidate will assist in coordinating capstone experiences for majors and programming for parish leaders. Will also consult with the Endowed Chair of the Catholic Thinkers and Leaders Program to assist in coordinating the leadership component of the Catholic Thinkers/Leaders program. Religious Studies and Theology Leadership Coordinator *Will assist Religious Studies and Theology Program faculty in monitoring the capstone experience for majors. *Will serve as a liaison between the Religious Studies and Theology Program and the Archdiocese of Dubuque in planning and implementing initiatives for parish leaders. *Will be responsible for preparing promotional materials and maintaining records for leadership initiatives sponsored by the Religious Studies and Theology Program and the Archdiocese of Dubuque. *Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition. *Performs related duties as assigned. Catholic Thinkers and Leaders Program Leadership Coordinator *Will help second semester junior students plan and implement their capstone experience in the program, with special attention given to integrating Catholic Social Teaching and theological reflection into the experience. The candidate will monitor the capstone projects and provide resources as they extend into students' senior year. *The candidate will help the sophomore cohort incorporate systematic reflection on Catholic Social Teaching and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition in their leadership projects. *The candidate will serve as a liaison between the CTL program and the Student Development division of the campus, especially the Lead 4 Loras program. *Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition. *Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Religious Studies/Theology strongly preferred. Two to four years related experience. Knowledge of PC Platform, Microsoft Office Suite to include desktop publishing, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and database management. Working knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and service learning highly desirable. Knowledge of Diocesan structures. Strong communication skills. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic; knowledgeable about Church teachings and liturgical practices. Email Job to a Friend!
