Job Title Date Posted 6/25/2009 Location Gary, IN Job Type Full-Time Regular Job Description TheCharterSchoolof the Dunes is seeking a Principal/Chief Administrative Officer(CAO) to join our strong staff and supportive, experienced School Board to lead a six year old school that is on the brink of building a newLEEDscertified facility in 2011. CSOTD is a K-8 school of 375 students(aiming for 450 by 2011) located "on the dunes" in the Miller community ofGary,Indiana. The curriculum is standard elementary/intermediate with emphasis on the Paragon Curriculum(see Mosaica Education, Inc. website for info) and on environmental studies. The Principal/CAO will be in charge of all aspects of the school - personnel, curriculum instruction, finance, facilities management and technology. Ability to disaggregate test data and to communicate program successes and concerns to faculty and board based on data analysis is a key quality in the CAO. An experienced staff - including an IT specialist, two mentor/coaches, a Title 1 Director, a SPED Director and a Behavior Coach - is ready to support the new CAO in furthering CSOTD's mission to provide the best possible education for our students and a supportive, welcoming community for our families. The position is full-time, year round in a school that enjoys a longer school year(193 instructional days) and a longer school day(8 am - 3:30 pm with before and after school options).
