A staff member may be appointed to term status for a specific term not to exceed three years in order to accomplish a specific purpose or when the duration of funding is limited or unknown. Duties:
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
To perform statistical computations and write reports. Coordinate the collection, analysis, processing and reporting of data, and assist in judging the validity of test data obtained. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs standard descriptive and analytical statistical computations, including chi-squares, correlations, t-tests. Translates and interprets statistical results and assists in the planning of data presentations. Organizes and prepares data for computer analysis. Coordinates the coding and editing of interviews and or questionnaires. Writes research and evaluation reports including summarizing test results. Assists in the preparation of papers for publication Performs library research on specified topics and prepares bibliographies and abstracts. Responds to information inquiries from customers. Communicates effectively with project agencies and other consumers on data collection needs and requirements, data analysis and results, making presentations and attending project meetings. Coordinates grant application process and procedures for individual proposals. Conducts research on background information for project areas and topics. Demonstrates respect for all members of the University community in the course of performing one's duties and in response to administrators, supervisors, coworkers, and customers. Supervision is received from the Research Scientist. SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Functional supervision may be exercised over assigned students (undergraduate and graduate), temporary, and office staff. Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in social work or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and one or more years of progressively responsible experience that enables the individual to perform at an intermediate level of social science research. Experience Required:
Experience and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software applications. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated organizational skills. Experience with statistical analysis using SPSS and data management. Certifications:
A valid driver's license. Desirable Qualifications:
