After successful completion of role specific and unit specific orientation, care partners will assists with the implementation of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. All care and treatment will be age appropriate. Basic Requirements:
Requires current enrollment in a program of professional nursing RN) and successful completion of first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals clinical, or graduation from a Nursing Assistants Training Program (NATS), or minimum of one year previous experience as a care partner or nursing assistant/technician. High School diploma/GED required. Prefers full time nursing assistant with flexible schedule. License Required:

7a-7p Salary range:
Min.$10.10- Mid.$12.62, dependent upon skills and experience Applications must be received by 11/4/009 to be considered The 8th floor is comprised of 32 beds and 28 rooms; 4 are semi private. Patients admitted to this floor are cared for by nurses who specialize in General Medicine which is known at Vanderbilt as the "Latest Recognized Specialty." The staff of these units care for patients including but not limited to the following acute care needs:
Pneumonia, CHF, COPD/Asthma exacerbations, Diabetes, GI Bleeding, HIV Positive Illnesses, Mental Status Changes, Sickle Cell Crisis, and Renal Failure. Nurses on 8 South also administer chemotherapy to the non-surgical oncology patient. Nurses who work on 8 North and 8 South develop an expertise in "generalist care". Because these units offer such a variety of diagnoses, nurses are challenged to stay knowledgeable concerning all disease processes and treatments. With a strong team approach and excellent nurse to patient ratios, the nurses on these units proudly provide the very best of care to the patient population.
