Requisition Number 09-1299 Working Title Job Family Administrative Support Hiring Min $16.00 Hiring Max $18.00 Shift First Shift Department HR-Temprite Services Location Medical School, 55 Lake Ave North City Worcester State MA Hours/Week 40 Union Code W00 Summary of Position The Project Coordinator will support the Associate Vice Provost for Diversity (AVPD) in the day-to-day running of the office of AVPD in its core mission of supporting faculty diversity at UMass Medical School. The candidate will assist in the ongoing strategic planning process, schedule meetings, take minutes, communicate with stakeholders at the request of the AVPD and/or Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, track the budget for the office, produce regular reports on the work of the office including data on faculty diversity, and communicate clearly with external partners to faculty diversity at the medical school. The candidate will also support the AVPD in the running of the faculty diversity scholars program including setting up regular meetings and supporting the work of the Faculty Diversity Scholars Program committee. The AVPD has major responsibilities for supporting the creation of communities for faculty from diverse backgrounds. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with the office of Faculty Affairs and other departments on organizing formal and informal social activities and communicating resources to faculty and department chairs to support faculty diversity. Ablility to organize and motivate cross-functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess an associates degree or equivalent plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, understand of the importance of diversity, have experience working in an academic setting, and/or have experience in project management in the area of workforce diversity from concept to sign off.
