Georgia-East Georgia The Southern Company Talent Acquisition organization has a unique opportunity for a Southern Nuclear Recruiting Consultant located at our two new nuclear units under construction at Plant Vogtle, located in Waynesboro, GA. Southern Nuclear Operating Company, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama:
two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, planning and excavation activities are underway for the future construction of two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle location. JOB SUMMARY The Recruiting Consultant is responsible for providing the highest level of recruiting services to our Southern Nuclear Operating Company leaders across the company. These services include hiring and sourcing strategy development and implementation to meet business needs; screening and hiring of internal and external candidates; and consultations with executives, managers, supervisors, and Human Resources partners around staffing and recruiting. A high degree of creativity, short and long term recruiting vision, business understanding, and personal organization is required. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with executives, HR partners, and management to identify personnel needs, workforce planning strategies, and search assignments in support of Southern Nuclear Operating Company * Consult with appropriate personnel regarding vacancies with regard to:
° Strategies for filling the vacancy ° Position requirements ° Salary requirements ° Sourcing and posting recommendations and options ° Screening criteria ° Timelines * Create requisitions and post internal and external openings through the Applicant Tracking System * Leverage recruiting resources to executive activities that will generate the very best and diverse candidate pools * Pre-screen internal and external candidates by reviewing and ranking the list of qualified candidates and/or conducting phone screens or interviews as applicable * Manage the job offer process:
o Consult with the HR Business Consultant/HR Team Leader to recommend and develop the job offer parameters o Extend the job offers to external candidates o Strategize with the HR Team Leader to negotiate job offers * Initiate and monitor the on-boarding process:
o Finalize start dates with hiring managers and candidates o Initiate and monitor the status of the nuclear background process, communicating with candidates and hiring managers throughout the process o Update the Applicant Tracking System with the hiring information and ensure the hiring transactions are completed by the appropriate parties * Maintain accurate, real-time and well-ordered requisition and candidate documentation, sourcing/searches activity, hiring manager/candidate interactions, and other recruiting activity documentation to ensure audit compliance * Evaluate sourcing quality and effectiveness after each hiring activity, and re-evaluate sourcing plans as necessary * Work with the campus recruiter to evaluate internal talent student pipeline programs to assess and market conversion-eligible students to hiring managers * Work with the talent management coordinator/HR partners to determine succession planning candidates to tap for interest in internally posted positions * Utilize effective communication techniques to proactively keep others informed, appropriately contributing ideas and recommendations in a timely manner JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing or related discipline * MBA or Masters degree a plus Experience Requirements:
* Minimum of five years of corporate full lifecycle recruiting, preferably for a manufacturing/plant environment in start-up mode * High volume recruitment for multiple types of positions simultaneously * Proven experience and success recruiting hard-to-fill, unique positions * Previous military recruiting experience highly beneficial * Experience working with web-based applicant tracking systems * Online database mining for candidate leads and sourcing * College/university/technical school recruiting and community at-large recruiting program development Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Expert knowledge in full lifecycle recruiting components, including but not limited to, sourcing, internet applicants, social networking, legal/compliance, wage and salary trends, and relationship management * Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong business relationships with hiring managers and HR partners in the development of strategies, leveraging market intelligence and best practices * Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with industry leaders, vendors, and community organizations, with proven ability to effectively network * Knowledge and extensive past experience with implementing workforce strategies and understanding workforce plans * Ability to develop, deliver, and execute multiple sourcing plans for a variety of positions, including exempt, non-exempt and skilled labor * Ability to determine a candidate's viability for a position based on their work experiences, behavioral attributes, and overall fit for the organization * Ability to effectively manage the offer process, including providing salary recommendations, handling offer negotiations, and closing the deal * Demonstrated ability to recruit for a broad range of positions in a high volume environment * Ability to develop diverse candidate pools through appropriate sourcing strategies and effective deployment * Strong project management experience * Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills to properly interface with all levels within the company * Ability to professionally develop, deliver, and present new recruiting concepts to executive leadership and technical communities * Solid and highly effective candidate sourcing and screening ability, including utilization of internet search tools and techniques * Effective time management and prioritization skills, resulting in effective and efficient results and outcomes * Ability to interpret market trends and adjust recruitment strategies as needed in response to changes in the environment * Strong marketing, selling and negotiation skills * Must be able to pass the nuclear background requirements for employment.
