Be part of a team of wind turbine subject matter experts, which have responsibility for reliability, availability and improvements across the FPL Fleet. Responsibilities:
Have full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments. Plan and develop engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts. Act as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field. Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations. Qualifications:
*Possesses expert operational and system knowledge of one or more wind turbine generator platforms. *Acts as lead in defining troubleshooting plans for faulted wind turbines. *Develops analytical models to detect wind turbine anomalies. *Conducts training as needed to advance field and control center technician troubleshooting skills. *Acts as Technical liaison between wind sites, subject matter experts, production assurance, and control center. Position Requires:
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field with two years minimum experience in the wind power generation industry or with a wind power equipment manufacturer. *Professional Engineering License is desired. *Work schedule typically Monday - Friday 8 hours per day early morning or late evening shift. Schedule may involve periods of weekend shift work. Position will require some travel depending on assignments. Night and or weekend work as well as call out for emergencies is sometimes required. Position will eventually transition to a rotating 12 hour shift assignment
