Description You will join a team of highly motivated people in the IT PS (Prime Services) department within the bank. The team designs, delivers and maintains functionalities for the Securities Lending business. The role is focused on development of server side java processes as well as JAVA GUI applications. In your role as a Java Developer your responsibilities will include:
. Building reliable and extensible systems for current and future production requirements . Dealing with business sponsors to gather their requirements to define functionality . Using bank and IT PS internal development standards . Following best practice (documentation, testing strategies etc) . Liaising with business analysts for requirements and testing . Developing effective lines of communication with the global development & support teams, the business and other IT groups The role requires an excellent command of the java programming language and best practise methods. Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with team members, business representatives and other stakeholders. Investment banking experience (preferably gained in a securities environment) is desirable. You should be a fast learner. This not only includes new technologies, but also rapidly changing priorities of tasks, where you will need to quickly adapt to changing situations. You will be an extremely motivated, self-driven and committed individual who is capable of working in an environment that requires flexibility and high productivity, with a strong focus on delivery to the business and quality assurance. Requirements The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
. Minimum of 3 years experience in software development, preferably in the financial services sector . Excellent in Java, strong SQL knowledge (Sybase and/or Oracle) . Unix, Solaris, Linux . Knowledge of Clearcase, Autosys, Tomcat, MQ, Perl beneficial . Experience in JAVA-Swing, Hybernate, Struts, Spring beneficial . Experienced in server side development (multi threading) . Bachelors Degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/Science/Maths preferred .
