Organization Objective/Purpose:
The objective of this role is to support the process of preparing mailings as part of Automated Mailing Services primary functions. Position helps ensure that the firm's external clients receive their statement and trade confirmations in the mail within service level standards. Brief Description of Role:
Position will report to the Manual Processing manager and will perform all of the duties associated with the processing of small volume letter jobs to clients that cannot be run on high speed mailing equipment and adding postage to mail pieces using stand alone metering equipment. Able to read job details, perform data entry tasks, confirm information input is accurate, select appropriate postage rate, and confirm quality of postage imprint on mailing. Able to complete documentation with attention to detail, balance piece counts in a job, and escalate any questions or issues. May perform mail pick ups from machines and office locations to prepare mail for metering. May assist in preparing finished mail product for vendor pickup. Able to differentiate between types of mail, postage rates and postage categories. Able to recognize and verify work received meets company quality and postal standards. Able to verify that correct postage is applied based on mail category, vendor and service level cutoffs by vendor. Escalates any questions for further instruction. These duties include:
validating the count, job name and data on the job log, accurately tracking and recording all foreign mail, pieces to be metered and any damaged pieces and fulfillment of miscellaneous jobs requiring manual intervention. Position is able to follow specific directions, validate work against control reports and communicate any discrepancies that are identified. Position is fully trained and functional on all processing equipment, including off line postage machines, pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines, bursters and folders. Position requires standing for entire work shift. Performs all other duties as assigned by manager. Technical/Functional Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. - Ability to lift, stand, stoop and bend at least 80% of the time. - Should be able to lift boxes, push postal carts weighing up to 50 lbs. - This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to read, comprehend and differentiate job names and processing instructions. - Position must understand basic math, be able to use a calculator and be willing to balance accounts to the piece level. - Willingness to learn and use electronic communication, manual pallet jacks and electrical equipment once trained. - This position should have good verbal communication skills, clear and concise writing skills and be flexible in assignments and duties.
