UBS Private Funds Group ("PFG") is a specialist product team within the Investment Bank and has established itself since inception in 1998 as a market leading placement agent. PFG provides global distribution for private equity and infrastructure funds and advises on all aspects relating to fundraising and has to date raised over $120 billion of capital for private equity funds. PFG is also a leading provider of secondary market advisory services solely focused on advising holders of private equity interests in funds and equity stakes in private companies on their liquidity options. The team has broad experience in all types of secondary transactions, including limited and full auctions and joint venture structures and since 2004 has executed over $16 billion in transactions. There is currently a large amount of institutional capital targeting secondary transactions and the market is expected to develop rapidly over the next 12 months. PFG has historically led its secondary activities from New York but is currently expanding its London-based European team to capitalize on the significant level of activity expected in the EMEA sector. PFG is looking for an ambitious and talented individual to join the London team as an Associate. Responsibilities include:
. Participate in due diligence of transaction opportunities, including assessing valuations, financial modeling, drafting investment papers and presenting investment recommendations; . Perform detailed financial analysis and spreadsheet modeling during live transactions; . Draft investment memorandums for potential buyers detailing transaction pricing and structure; . Work with senior investment team members to source investment opportunities; . Develop / maintain relationships with intermediaries and private equity funds; . Work with and help guide the development of junior investment professionals; Requirements . Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or an international equivalent. . Possess strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills . Second-year MBA students with a minimum of three years work experience, knowledge of the private equity industry and a background in finance, marketing and/or consulting are preferred. . The ability to speak a second European language would be advantageous.
