UBS Private Funds Group ("PFG") is a specialist product team within the Investment Bank and has established itself since inception in 1998 as a market leading placement agent. PFG provides global distribution for private equity and infrastructure funds and advises on all aspects relating to fundraising and has to date raised over $120 billion of capital for private equity funds. PFG is also a leading provider of secondary market advisory services solely focused on advising holders of private equity interests in funds and equity stakes in private companies on their liquidity options. The team has broad experience in all types of secondary transactions, including limited and full auctions and joint venture structures and since 2004 has executed over $16 billion in transactions. There is currently a large amount of institutional capital targeting secondary transactions and the market is expected to develop rapidly over the next 12 months. PFG has historically led its secondary activities from New York but is currently expanding its London-based European team to capitalize on the significant level of activity expected in the EMEA sector. PFG is looking for an experienced financial or investment professional to join the London team as a Director. The European team is still early in its development and this will be an exciting opportunity to participate in the team's growth and business development and would ideally suit an ambitious self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. As Director you will be responsible for all aspects of transaction execution including the supervision of valuation analysis, strategy / process recommendation and structuring issues including interaction with the primary fundraising team during stapled transactions. Good communication and management skills are not only essential within the team environment but also during on-going dialogue with the client. The role will be based in London but will involve travel throughout the EMEA region. Requirements . Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or an international equivalent. . Associate level (or higher) experience from a top-tier investment bank particularly with an M&A or leveraged finance background including demonstrable transactional experience . Strong analytical insight and spreadsheet modeling skills, as well as a strong understanding of financial statements - an understanding of private equity fund structures would be a significant advantage; . Excellent communications skills both verbally and in written form; . Good interpersonal & team skills - comfortable with consensus decision-making and working in a fast-paced, cross-border, team-based environment; . Well organized with good time-management skills; . The ability to speak a second European language will be advantageous; . Candidates with an MBA from a top business school, having some banking or investment management experience prior to the MBA will also be highly regarded.
