Description A leading participant in the global primary and secondary markets for equity, equity-linked and equity derivative products, the equities business area - named 'Most Innovative in Trading' (The Banker, 2008) -distributes, trades, finances and clears cash equity and equity-linked products. It also structures, originates and distributes new equity and equity-linked issues and provides research on companies, industry sectors, geographical markets and macroeconomic trends. Located within the Fundamental Investment Group, the Equities Division's Proprietary Trading arm, this role is in the Capital Structure Trading team in London and focuses on the markets traded out of the European time-zones. The role will focus on analysis of corporate risk and returns across a range of asset classes:
equities, corporate credit and convertibles. The objective is to identify opportunities and risk and value assets on a relative and absolute basis. This involves:
building and maintaining financial models; analyzing capital structures; performing scenario analysis; analyzing special situations; analyzing a large amount of information and analysis provided by external sources; interacting with the rest of the team and market counterparties. Requirements . You have experience in corporate financial modelling and fundamental analysis. You can analyze companies, industries and novel situations on both an ad hoc and systematic basis. . Ideally you have an understanding of the principles of valuing derivative instruments. . Ideally you have some knowledge of one or more of the markets in which we operate:
equities, convertibles, corporate credit, derivatives. . You are organized and can handle and analyze large amounts of information and identify key issues. . You are able to form views and make recommendations with conviction, whether positive or negative, and acknowledge uncertainty where appropriate. . You are competent user of relevant software (Excel, Bloomberg etc). . Able to demonstrate good communication skills and build strong relationships with internal colleagues and external counterparties.
