Description A junior Financial Control role based in the SNB Fund Investment Management team, initially focused on Commercial Real Estate Whole Loans. Background:The SNB StabFund purchased illiquid securities and other positions from UBS as of 30 September 2008. UBS acts as Investment Manager for Fund. While a third party Prime Broker acts as custodian and maintains the books and records, UBS, as Investment Manager, runs parallel accounting processes to provide additional control over the books and records as well as a means to produce management information to the Fund leadership and other interested parties. The Investment Manager's Finance function controls and reports on asset valuation and cash flows. The role will focus on the Commercial Real Estate Whole Loans and REO properties, which require close monitoring and have additional reporting requirements. It will evolve to cover other responsibilities within the Finance function. Detail:
The role will initially include performing the following functions:
* Monthly reconciliation of cash received from servicers to expectations * Review, analyze and document rationale for protective advances * Document, report and reconcile REO expenses * Act as liaison between auditors/regulatory bodies and front office to streamline requests for information. Other components of the role will include:
* Recommending and driving process improvements. * Involvement in the daily P&L production for the Fund on a T+1 basis. * Daily interaction with senior staff from the trading, operations, market risk, credit risk, IT and finance functions. * Involvement in Change the Bank initiatives and projects. Requirements * Bachelors degree or international equivalent Preferred Qualifications * One to two years post-graduation work experience preferable * Ability to quickly identify and review problems, devising and implementing practical solutions. * Proactive person who challenges processes and looks for improvements. * Confident self-starter, able to deal with potentially difficult clients and interact with senior traders and management. * Intellectual curiosity/change orientated. * Organized. * Detail Oriented. * Team Player. * Ability to meet regular, tight deadlines and priorities.
