Description Logistics Business Unit Controlling (Logistics BUC) provides financial and analytical services for the logistics functions within the Investment Bank. The Logistics area consists of Information Technology, Operations, Corporate Administrative Services, Human Resources, Finance, Credit Risk, Market Risk and General Counsel. Approximately 15,000 staff work in logistics globally and spend in excess of $3 billion annually. Maintaining the integrity of UBS's financials is paramount to our roles and we ensure compliance with applicable internal and external regulatory requirements. We partner with our logistics clients to provide efficient and reliable reporting of historical expenses and forecast the future direction of their cost bases. Logistics BUC has an opening is in the Real Estate Business Unit Controlling organization for a senior Associate Director/Director. This role will report to the Corporate Administration Services and Real Estate BUC for Americas. The Real Estate BUC organization focuses on the financial accounting and integrity of real estate assets, leases and other holdings across the Investment Bank in the Americas. Responsibilities include; * Direct involvement and oversight of all aspects of the monthly closing process for ensuring the integrity of real estate (within the America's) in conformance with accounting policy and company timelines. * Computation and review of accruals and prepayments. * Maintaining financial integrity of the general ledger by managing the balance sheet and P&L and ensuring processes are SOX compliant. * Monthly completion of forecasting process by building. * Perform financial due diligence and analyzes on real estate projects. * Prepare & review quarterly global cost allocation keys to ensure business areas are accurately charged. * Complete the monthly global reporting package; consolidating, validating and interpreting regional financial data as required. * Perform various real estate analyzes and strategic projects. * Knowledge and working experience within GAAP standards including FAS 144 (Accounting for the impairment or disposal of long lived assets). * Lead, participate and oversee process improvement activities within the group with a focus on creating the proper documentation, structure and efficiencies while minimizing risk. * Prepare and review monthly reports with the use of GCRS as the base for all numbers reported out to the client. * Create and maintain monthly reporting packages for all the areas needing this detail within the CREAS Americas organization. * In addition to the standard reporting cycle run for CREAS, provide precise and accurate ad hoc reports as needed. The candidate must be proficient in creating financial models with strong Excel skills and an aptitude to work with complex scenarios and financial structures. While the role will be primarily focused on financial management, the scope is considerably wider, and the successful candidate will need to be skilled in a range of areas. Specifically, the candidate must have strong analytical skills, a solid accounting background, exceptional communication skills (both written and oral), commercial expertise, and proven client relationship management skills.
