Join our progressive and growing practice conveniently located between West Knoxville and Farragut. Dr. Stephanie Shults has been practicing pediatrics in Knoxville since 1994 and then opening her own practice in 2002. Dr. Shults focus is to provide state-of-the-art medicine with a caring touch in an environment where patient care is first and foremost. The goal of our office staff is to provide prompt, courteous and professional attention to all our patients. We offer a broad range of children?s services from birth to age 21 including:
preventative care visits, routine pediatric care, vaccinations, laboratory services and emergency care. We also offer prenatal consult for expectant parents. Shults Pediatrics will also provide support to parents and families with developmental milestones, nutritional advice, safety and behavioral issues and offers ongoing educational classes. Job Description:
Perform a variety of business, clerical and medical related tasks designed to facilitate the smooth flow of patients and work throughout the practice. Duties include but are not limited to:
Receives and registers patients and all visitors in a prompt and courteous manner, manages telephone, schedules appointments, collects payments and co-payments, processes forms and on occasion enters charges and payments in the computer system. Assist the physician and nurse with examination and treatment of patients and perform routine tasks needed to keep the communication between medical staff and clerical staff in office running smoothly. Experience and Education:
A minimum of two year?s experience in a medical office (pediatric office experience preferred). A multi-tasked professional with experience in performing both front and back office activities in a medical environment. High school graduate or equivalent; completion of a recognized medical secretarial or medical assistant program preferred. Requirements:
Knowledge of modern operational methods relevant to a medical practice; clerical equipment, operations and processes; must have a basic understanding of medical terms and abbreviations; usage of computers a must; various pediatric medical forms; individuals working in office must have a clear understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the patient/physician relationship.
