Under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist in accordance with State Practice Act.  Possesses training and/or experience which allows him/her to aide therapists in carrying out rehabilitation procedures, organize/schedule and keep records of ancillary services and support other center specific functions. Essential Functions:
Execute activities delegated by supervisor as allowed under State Practice Act. Clean, sterilize and prepare whirlpools following Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.  Clean and maintain hydrocollators, paraffin units and logs temperatures as outlined in policy and procedures manual.  Keep current with laundry and maintains adequate stock of supplies.  Clean and maintain all other therapy/exercise equipment.  Complete OSHA training on a yearly basis and adhere to OSHA guidelines and other governmental regulations for safety inspections, cleaning, disinfecting, storage of chemicals and disposal of waste. Observe and report any abnormal patient conditions, reactions and responses to treatment in an effective, professional manner. Play a significant role in specific area of facility operations (may be scheduling ancillary services and following up, overseeing a specific program, serving as OSHA coordinator, etc.). Required Skills and Abilities/Physical Requirements:
Ability to work effectively as a team member. Effective communication skills for accurate, concise and organized oral and written skills for report writing and presentation of information to patient and staff. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective organizational, time management and planning skills.       Computer skills including accurate data entry skills for automated facilities. Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone. Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a work day/shift. Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose, and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions.
