Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant provides assistance to the Business Manager in the implementation of an office system that will enhance the smooth operation of the hospice. Assist in the Human Resources functions of the office which may include, but are not limited to:
Payroll processing to include RPA data entry, payroll reports, corrections, research on problems, leave accruals and new hire paperwork. Maintenance of personnel files. Maintenance of employee database to include document tracking and follow-up to ensure all required documents and appraisals are in the employee files in a timely manner. Administer job posting system. Liaison with employees and management regarding routine questions and requests on Human Resources issues. Assist in the Business Operations of the office which may include, but are not limited to:
Daily Reception/Switchboard relief for breaks and lunch hour; vacation relief when scheduled. Maintain inventory of all office, kitchen, medical, stationery, Vitas forms and copier/fax supplies. Sort, stock and distribute supplies upon receipt. Distribute and track technical equipment. Daily processing and preparation of outgoing mail, including Federal Express. Distribution of incoming mail. Alternate liaison with building management on maintenance and repair issues. Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Please refer to Vitas Job Description 9:60. Hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, located in Lombard, IL office. Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years office experience. Excellent organizational and clerical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with confidential materials. Must be detail orientated and be able to multiple task to make deadlines. Must be able to prioritize daily HR functions, be flexible and a Team Player. Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook. Will be working with PeopleSoft HR system. Excellent attendance and punctuality required. Lifting requirements:
25 lbs for Medical Supply stocking and daily FedEx/UPS deliveries. Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
