Credentialing Coordinator

Job Details:

City Arlington State TX Minimum Experience 2 Preferred Experience 4 Description A. Processes all initial applications for Medical/Allied Health Professional Staff appointments and clinical privileges to meet surgery center policies and procedures, Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and/or ambulatory care accreditation standards. Processing of renewals must begin at least 30-90 days before expiration date. B. Processes all Medical/Allied Health Professional Staff reappointments according to surgery center policies and procedures, Medical Staff Bylaws, JCAHO and/or ambulatory care accreditation standards. C. Processes temporary privileges and one-case privileges according to policy and procedure and the Medical Staff Bylaws, JCAHO and/or ambulatory care accreditation standards. After a completed application has been filed, requests for temporary privileging will be processed in three (3) working days. D. Submits complete credentialing materials to the Administrator of each surgery center and flags any concerns for initial appointment and reappointment applications. E. Maintains up-to-date physician database, including medical licenses, drug enforcement administration certificates, professional liability insurance, and renewal period expiration dates. Communicate with administrator monthly about expiration reports and provide rosters when requested. Report at quarterly Medical Executive Committee the status of expiration documents. F. Maintains organized credential files and assists with inspections by regulatory authorities or accreditation surveyors. G. Queries electronically the National Practitioner Data Bank for initial appointment, reappointments, change in privileges, and temporary privileges for each surgery center. H. Verifies Medical/Allied Health Staff licenses for initial appointment, reappointment, license renewal, and temporary privileges. Requirements Two years of credentialing experience in an acute care hospital, managed care organization an/or credentialing verification organization. A basic knowledge of accreditation standards and state and federal credentialing related regulations. Experience with word processing and database management computer applications.
