The Clinic Medical Assistant is a clinical position that applies the knowledge, skills, and experience in patient interactions that take place both in person and over the telephone. This position is expected to work closely with physicians and mid-level providers (such as nurse practitioners, etc.) to help ensure the delivery of high quality patient care. Required:
Current CPR certification. Demonstrable experience, or course work in confidentiality/safety, computer applications, managed care/referral processes, medical terminology/spelling, medical documentation, and coding (CPT/ICD-9).? Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.? Must be able to work easily and in collaboration with other health care professionals.? Must be able to anticipate patient and physician/provider needs.? Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, changing environment.? Must be able to work in high volume and high pressure situations while maintaining a caring and understanding attitude with patients and clinic personnel.? Strong organizational skills, ability to plan and prioritize work.? Must be able to take initiative, solve problems, and make decisions.? Strong data entry/typing skills with minimum 40 wpm. Preferred:
Bi-linqual Spanish STRONGLY preferred. Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant program such as AAMA, AMT (RMA), or NCCT within one (1) year of employment, or prior certification as a Medical Assistant with recent clinical experience. Minimum 1-3 years experience in an ambulatory care setting. Experience with advanced computer applications (such as electronic medical record, electronic appointment scheduling). Core Values:
