CO-Denver Meridian South The CMITO, by virtue of her/his expertise in clinical, informatics, and telehealth domains, is responsible for ensuring the effective collaboration between clinicians and IT with the purpose of optimizing the successful implementation of Clinical IT solutions and Telehealth programs to support the delivery of safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and person-centered care. The CMITO must be able to support the planning and implementation of telehealth solutions, especially for the Critical Access Hospital regions within CHI. Through advocating for standardized IT solutions that best support clinical practice, the CMITO will be the liaison between the IT and Clinical arenas within CHI, ensuring systematic approaches that effectively provide an enhanced access to quality, safety, and efficiency for the communities we serve. . Engage patient care staff including physicians, nurses, mid-level practitioners, and ancillary clinical staffs to contribute to the development and use of clinical information solutions. . Working through clinical leadership within the Market Based Organizations (MBOs), design projects, implementation strategies, standards for solutions, and measurements of clinical and financial effectiveness once project implementation is complete . Provide tele-health consultation and solutions for those areas within CHI requiring such programs to provide excellence in services to the communities they serve . Chair clinical and IT advisory groups as needed to provide broad based input into the design of the clinical information systems and telehealth solutions. . Work closely with the CIO and his regional CIOs to transfer the expertise necessary for IT decision makers to enhance their clinical selections and approaches . Serve as the primary communicator to senior executives and clinical leadership throughout CHI . Guide the CHI implementation of EMR, AEHR, CPOE, and patient portals where applicable and consistent with the CHI roadmap for such implementations . Lead development of national CHI "standards" for clinical information technologies, best practice methodologies related to CIS and telehealth, protocols and "rules" including physician order sets, and clinical research where it impacts her/his areas of expertise. a. Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
. Licensed MD or DO with Board Certification required . Master's degree required in medical informatics, health administration, health policy or related field. b. Experience (required & preferred):
. Meaningful experience in managing an active medical practice. At least 5 years medical practice experience required. . Five or more years of managerial experience as a medical director, head of multi-specialty group, or head of a quality improvement department preferred. . Experience in medical staff leadership evidenced by role in medical records committees, pharmacy/therapeutics, IRB, OR product standardization, etc. preferred. . Experience in introducing clinical information systems and tele-health into medical practices preferred. . Five (5) years experience as hospital or system CMIO required. Additional Responsibilities:
