The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides occupational therapy programs and treatments under the supervision of a licensed therapist to facilitate independence and functioning to clients. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Implements therapeutic programs and treatment within the instruction and guidelines established by the therapist; notifies therapist of progress or changes. · Implements therapeutic programs and treatment which include, but are not limited to, positioning, mobility, motor development, orthopedic status, adaptive equipment, feeding, ADL's. · Maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with departmental procedures, to assure availability of resources to therapists and effective departmental operation. · Maintains a safe and orderly work environment, thorough cleaning and straightening of the area, following specific departmental procedures/instructions, daily. · Designs, constructs, and monitors patient use of adaptive equipment, orthotic devices, wheelchairs, and mobility and positioning devices. · Participates as member of interdisciplinary team; attends patient-related and department meetings as required. · Participates in quality control and quality improvement. Requirements:
· Graduate of a 2 year accredited occupational therapy assistant program · Must have State required Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license. · BLS certification · Ability to lift 40 pounds Our generous benefits plan, to include full medical, dental, employer paid short and long term disability and more, are highly regarded within the business and health care community as a model many try to emulate but very few can match.
