Providence is calling Gastrointestinal Assistants! Gastrointestinal Assistants perform a variety of clerical, technical, and patient care duties in support of the Endoscopy operations. The assistant maintains and cleans equipment, transports patients, and orders supplies. The GIA assists the physician and RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The assistant responds to emergency situation as directed by the RN. Position Specifics This position is located at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. This position is 0.8 FTE, 32 hrs/wk, day shifts, in the Endoscopy Department. All candidates hired into a position posted as 20 hrs/wk or more qualify for benefits. REQUIREMENTS Education:
High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Licenses/Certifications:
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification. Experience:
Knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. One year experience in a health care setting. Keyboarding skills and proficiency in reading and writing English, and knowledge of medical terminology are required. Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationship with other employees and service areas. Answer the call to fulfill the Mission.
