Providence is calling Health Information Management Specialists! Employees in the Health Information Management Specialist II position are responsible for four functional areas:
chart preparation, chart scanning, chart indexing/quality control and chart analysis. The Specialist II will provide front line customer service to physicians via the phone and in person on the deficiency process. This position will also be responsible for the completion of Birth Certificates, Master Patient Index maintenance, and Release of Information. We're seeking an individual who performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission and Philosophy of our founders, the Sisters of Providence. Position Specifics This position is located at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. This position is full time, variable shifts. All candidates hired into a position posted as 20 hrs/wk or more qualify for benefits. REQUIREMENTS Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. Experience:
Required:
Computer keyboarding and mouse experience required. Six months working as a Health Information Management Specialist I required.Preferred:
One year experience in an office setting preferred. Experience in medical records, medical office, business office, or customer service. Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Required:
Computer knowledge required. Ability to learn and be proficient in multiple hospital computer systems. Position requires a self starter with strong independent decision making skills who can respond to complex situations with confidence.Preferred:
