Providence is calling Lab Assistant IIs Laboratory Assistants II are responsible for clinical laboratory duties, including:
phlebotomy - obtaining blood samples by skin puncture, venipuncture and arterial puncture; autologous blood collection, EKG, processing specimens. Collection and procurement - instructing patients in proper collection of urine and other samples, and preparing samples for reference laboratories. Operating laboratory equipment and HIS/LIS - performing waived tests and moderately complex tests under supervision. Taking orders for tests and clerical functions - patient registration, communication with customer/clients and lab staff. We're seeking an individual who performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission and Philosophy of our founders, the Sisters of Providence. Position Specifics This position is located at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. This is an on call variable shift position, every other weekend. REQUIREMENTS Education:
High School diploma or the equivalent, plus clinical laboratory experience, or completion of approved phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training program. Licenses/Certifications:
HCA Certification or eligible for certification. Answer the call to fulfill the Mission.
