UT-Provo Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Labor and Delivery department has 18 beds and 4 triage rooms and 5 Antepartum rooms, and assists with approximately 4800 deliveries a year. These include high risk deliveries involving pre-eclampsia, diabetic, and cardiac pregnant patients. This department has 6-7 weeks of orientation and may obtain NRP certification after some time on the unit. C-section and vaginal deliveries involve the nurse where they may learn to scrub and circulate in the OR. This position is very exciting, challenging and gives the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment. This position is accountable for the provision of safe, efficient and therapeutically effective care on the patient unit to which assigned. Utilizing the nursing process, care is delivered in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate must provide proof of current RN license that allows you to practice in the state of Utah and have one year of previous RN experience, or provide proof of license-eligibility if applying with out of state license at time of application and have one year of previous RN experience. Current CPR certification is required at the time of application. 2009 Urban South Region policy requires all new RN graduates to be hired through our RN Grad Residency Program before being hired to a floor or have one year of previous RN experience. A flexible schedule is required for this position.
