Providence is calling a Chaplain. Provide Spiritual Care Presence and offer spiritual and emotional support to residents, family members and staff. Works closely with Activity Director to schedule and provide spiritually based activities for the Heritage House community. Will maintain chaplain budget; coordinates outside community religious people to honor the range of spiritual beliefs. Participates in Administrative Council Meetings. Conduct celebrations of life for residents who have passed away. Celebrate religious holidays and important occasions to the Sisters of Providence such as Emilie Gamelin and Mother Joseph days. Participate with the Providence Senior and Community Services Spiritual Care Coordinator group. Comply with all applicable Federal State, and local laws, regulations, and requirements as well as Providence Health Services and Heritage House policies and procedures of job performance. Maintain confidentiality of all resident demographics, medical and financial information at all times. Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information. Ensure proper handling and disposal of confidential documents and adheres to all HIPPAA rules and regulations. We're seeking an individual who performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission and Philosophy of our founders, the Sisters of Providence. Position Specifics. This position is located at Providence Heritage House at the Market in Seattle, WA. This is a part-time, non-benefited opportunity working a .3 FTE (12 hrs/wk). REQUIREMENTS Education:
Bachelor degree in theology, religious studies or religious education. Licenses/Certifications:
Have chaplaincy certification from a recognized organization. Experience:
Ability to work with a diverse population. Experience in counseling and interpersonal relationships with the elderly. Ability to encourage/escort residents to Spiritual Care functions. Ability to work and relate well with residents and staff of the facility, and clergy of diverse faiths. Ability to articulate personal theology of Spiritual Care.
