Under the direction of radiologist or supervisor, performs all technical, diagnostic, or therapeutic radiologic procedures in their field of expertise (at least 60% of the time) requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs and documents equipment for quality control. Assists in acquiring and maintaining all necessary documents for state and federal certification. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. May be required to provide coverage at all three campuses. Percentage of time spent performing tasks may vary with departmental staffing needs. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures. Technologists must obtain their advanced ARRT credential in CT no later than 18 months after their hire date in order to maintain their classification in job code 3164. Should the credential not be obtained in the specified time, a technologist in good standing is eligible to apply for open positions in other job classifications for which they have the appropriate credentials. Basic Education:
High school or GEDand Completion of an ARRT accredited Radiology General Procedures program orUSmilitary Radiology General Procedures training program Basic Experience:
