Leave of Absence Manager

Amazon is seeking a delivery-oriented manager to lead our Leave of Absence (LOA) program. This hands-on role will liaise with employees, managers and Human Resources to provide business solutions for a dynamic and growing organization. In addition to owning a small case load, objectives for this role will include enhancing our existing LOA program, providing LOA policy guidance, and managing a small team in delivering Amazon quality service to our employees. Responsibilities:
Defining key performance indicators - develop metrics and service level agreements for core LOA services and transactions, track delivery against program objectives, lead improvement initiatives and encourage a culture of efficiency, innovation, and customer serviceDriving operational excellence - build LOA processes and tools that ensure a high quality employee experience as well as compliance with leave of absence policies, document audit methodology and implement ongoing audit proceduresScaling existing services - expand coverage of existing LOA services to additional locations and lines of business - successfully manage all aspects of program implementation working in partnership with local business and HR teamsEvaluating new proposals - identify project opportunities that address service gaps, process inefficiencies, or emerging service requirements, develop the business case for new initiatives, and provide project management Building cross-functional partnership - work closely with Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments important to the administration of the LOA program, develop strong partnerships with HR Managers and HR business partners across locationsDeveloping team capabilities - work at an individual and team level to develop HR and leadership skills, provide stretch opportunities to advance the team and provide career development opportunities for team members Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of HR program and project management in a high volume environment supporting a geographically distributed employee population.5+ years of HR or related experience, knowledge of employment law and familiarity with leave of absence policies desired3+ years experience managing and developing direct reportsSuccessful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfactionDemonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments - great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detailStrategic view, able to perform cost benefit analyses, accurately assess risk, forecast both long and short-term outcomes, and evaluate the implications in a complex business environmentExceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investmentExperience identifying and resolving issues independently - solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgmentCustomer service orientation with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations - ability to serve multiple customers (employees, managers, HR)Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers as well as setting and managing expectationsBachelor's degree in business, HR or related field - graduate degree and/or MBA preferred If interested, please apply online at
