Sage is seeking a full time Interaction Designer/Software User Interface Designer for our campus in Austin, TX - no relocation assistance available.  You will be part of a team that is launching a new platform of web-based solutions for our award winning products such as MIP Fund Accounting. For more than two decades, Sage has helped thousands of nonprofits and government agencies of all types and sizes further their missions with our broad range of award-winning fund accounting and fundraising solutions.  Our global strength gives customers unrivaled choice, quality, and service while providing innovative, flexible, and easy-to-use solutions designed specifically with their needs in mind.  Integration, customization, and scalability ensure that our customers can accommodate growth-related challenges to their advantage while resulting in greater accuracy, accountability, smoother audits, increased donations, and more time to focus on their cause.   Create navigation structures and information designs, as well as constructing prototypes, storyboards, and mockups for a web based product to effectively communicate designs to Product Management and R&D. Create final visual designs for Web application. Develop mockup/prototype interaction designs, including user interaction models, information architecture, wire frames and screen flows.Understand design and usability issues for product. Assist Product Management and feature teams in defining functional interaction requirements specifications. Write final user interface specifications.Write User Interface standards for web application. Work with Usability Analyst to conduct customer studies of mockups, prototypes and existing interfaces; and iterate designs based on usability test results. Expand product knowledge, including market competitors. Adjust usability processes with team lead or manager, as needed. Plan and organize before performing tests or laying out designs. Work independently with some guidance needed. Use project definition provided by team lead or manager. Proactively address individual tasks and manages time effectively. Use tools correctly; competent with at least one prototyping tool. Accompany senior UX positions on site visits and phone interviews to collect user data. Create reports for issues found and contribute to meetings. Work actively with team members to make everyone more effective. Review documentation and provide comments. Propose improvements to processes and products. Develop product knowledge and serve as a knowledge resource leader in those areas. Demonstrate data and subject matter expertise.Lead Design ideation and verification meetings.  Bachelor’s degree; Human Factors certificate; or equivalent experience and at least 2-4 years of software design experience on web-based applications. Experience of prototyping tools such as Expressions, Viso and Lucid Spec are requiredExperience with design tools such as Snag It and Photoshop are preferred. Knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle is a plus.Experience in product development teams working on UI designs in an agile methodology environment.
