Are you ready to make a difference in the world of mobile communications with RIM?POSITION SUMMARY   The Test Automation Developer will work at the BlackBerry Development Tools and Platforms Organization. The BlackBerry Development Tools and Platforms Software Validation and Verification (SV&V) team tests cutting edge Application Development Platforms and Solutions for RIM's wireless devices.  RESPONSIBILITIES   The successful candidate will ensure that BlackBerry Development Tools, Platforms and Solutions delivered to market are of the highest quality, bug free and conform to product specifications.Automate various types of tests such as component, regression, smoke, and functional system-level tests on server based products, client/server, web, and wireless applications using Java Helps Formulate & Develop effective Test Automation Architecture by defining the best practices and coding standards  Pro-actively analyze the current processes and practices and suggest/ drive improvements.  ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSComputer Science Degree or related discipline 2+ years of Java Development/Automation experience in a software product development environment Extensive Knowledge and/or experience using software engineering tools (Perforce, MKS Integrity, Quality Center, etc...) & automation and performance test frameworks(Rational/Mercury/TestQuest, etc...) Deep technical background - able to dissect product changes and translate that into test automation opportunities Strong knowledge of and practical experience using "best practice" test methodologies Solid bug tracking and test reporting skills Proven experience in performing testing activities (black box and white box) in a product development environment Proven experience in creating automated test frameworks and suites with automated tools (Rational/Mercury/TestQuest) Experience working closely with other teams including Development, Documentation, Localization, and Product Management to resolve defects to closure Proactive in identifying issues that will affect product deliveries Able to adjust workload and perform manual testing when required during aggressive timelines Initiative and innovative with passion for process improvement Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Excellent analytical and problem determination skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills ADDITIONAL ASSETSExperience in Java, XML, Microsoft .Net Development including C#, .NET Framework and PHP Experience in developing test tools Experience in designing, executing and analyzing Load and Stress tests Knowledge of wireless technology including Blackberry handsets, Blackberry Enterprise Servers, etc. If you're driven to take wireless technologies to the next level, it's time you join the team at RIM.
