Requisition # 122566BR Posting Job Title Brand Huffington Post Media Group Market Location US - New York - New York City Position Type Full Time Posting Job Description The Huffington Post has an immediate opening for an Associate Editor for Huff/Post 50, a site devoted to the vibrant and diverse Boomer demographic. The Associate Editor will have an active, hands-on role in the daily management of this new vertical and the shaping of its editorial direction. They will news hunt and maintain a database of fresh news sources, produce multiple daily news write-ups, handle link-outs and content shares, develop slideshows, curate all social media, interact with bloggers, delegate to (and manage) interns, and do whatever needs doing to keep the site fresh, lively and engaging. This role requires extreme dedication to detail, swift and accurate writing ability, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the nuts and bolts of a major national news site. Qualifications:
* 2-4 years of experience in reporting, writing and editing, primarily for the digital space * Strong news judgment and sense of news ethics * Have thorough knowledge of writing and aggregating for online media * Must be comfortable multi-tasking and able to work independently and proactively * Have a basic understanding of HTML, Photoshop and blog publishing platforms. * Excellent knowledge of social media platforms * Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Requirements:
