Position Overview:
The Spares Planner position is a high performance position within Supply Operations that is responsible for the monitoring of 3rd party vendor performance against contracted SLA's that supports the procurement of product and management of spares inventory levels within TELUS. As a planner / forecaster reporting to the Manager, Purchasing & Inventory Management you will be required to:
* liaise with internal partners in order to understand their short and long term business plans * understand contracted SLA's and measure supplier performance against critical spares levels * develop material forecasts based on historical data and business plans to support internal partner requirements, and compare those against supplier recommendations * in partnership with the 3rd party, establish forecasting and replenishment parameters that drive inventory replenishment * Monitor product life cycle from introduction to discontinuance * Authorize inventory replenishment based on business plans, inventory performance targets and 3rd Party SLA performance. * Act as first point of contact to resolve supply issues with our internal customers and 3rd party vendor. Responsibilities:
In order to be successful, the successful candidate will be required to validate and optimize inventory levels ensuring that the proper balance is maintained between contractual requirements, customer service levels, inventory investment and operational efficiencies. Success will be measured by monitoring:
* Turns * Availability to Promise levels * Surplus Levels * Customer feedback * SLA compliance Required Knowledge:
* In depth knowledge of inventory management principles and concepts including forecasting and statistical analysis * SAP/R3 MM would be an asset * Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Power Point Required Skills & Abilities:
* Demonstrate readiness to render decisions that influence others; makes judgments, takes action, and stands behind decisions made * Demonstrate effective oral and written communications, overall. Listens well and presents ideas effectively both when speaking and writing * Demonstrates an overall capacity to achieve through initiative, hard work and determination * Demonstrates an ability to analyze situations and engage in problem solving. Can conceptualize a challenge and then work towards possible solutions * Demonstrate the ability to work under ambiguous circumstances and extrapolate data in order to select the appropriate course of action * Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment and take on a leadership role Required Professional Designation/Certification:
* Post secondary education with emphasis on materials management * PMAC or APICS certified or currently enrolled in either program is a preference Required Experience:
* 4 years progressive experience in Supply Chain management with emphasis on Inventory Management * Experience working with 3rd party vendors TELUS Values:
